We’re experiencing a mass extinction of natural diversity, including bacteria. Even if we´re not able to see them, all life on Earth depends on them. Can microbes tell us how to live on a broken planet?

The Invisible Colonies is a documentary film that brings together science, activism, speculative futures, and artistic freedom to deconstruct the myths on the origins of life.
In this story, a scientist –born and raised in an off-space Martian colony– feels uprooted and out of context. The information about Earth is fuzzy and patched-up. The inhabitants of Mars know one thing: they cannot go back. Our planet is not safe anymore. Nevertheless, the scientist keeps having dreams of Earth that don’t match with the official story. In order to find answers, the main character turns to bacteria, the only organisms in the colony that come from Earth. What happens when these microorganisms tell their side of the story?
We are now completing scriptwriting and pre-production of the film, and plan to start soon with the production of The Invisible Colonies.
